New Threat by Big Chemical to Get a Liability Shield…Again

SB2127 has been gutted and replaced with language that would remove state’s right to determine labeling for pesticides. The language wants to unify us with the EPA who is captured by Big Chemical as evidenced in the Monsanto Papers’. Contact your Oklahoma State Representative & Senator and ask them to vote NO on labeling loopholes that give legal immunity to foreign chemical companies. This bill takes away state’s rights to direct our own pesticide policies and labeling.

Protect Consumer Choice and America’s Only Donkey Milk Dairy

A concerning bill recently passed the Oklahoma Senate and is now headed to the Oklahoma House of Representatives. If passed, this legislation would place new restrictions on how certain raw milk products can be advertised in Oklahoma — including donkey milk.

This matters because Oklahoma is home to the only donkey milk dairy farm in the United States. The bill would directly impact their ability to communicate about and promote their product to consumers.

In addition to restricting advertising, the bill would also increase taxes on milk sold in Oklahoma, adding additional pressure on producers and raising concerns for consumers who value access to alternative dairy products.

For many families, donkey milk and other raw milk products are sought out for personal, nutritional, or dietary reasons. Limiting the ability for producers to even discuss or advertise these products creates unnecessary barriers for small farms and the consumers who rely on them.

Small agricultural businesses should not be singled out by regulations that limit their ability to operate, communicate with customers, and grow.

The Bill Has Passed the Senate — Now It Heads to the House

The vote in the Oklahoma Senate passed 25–20, with three members excused.

Now the decision moves to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, where lawmakers will decide whether this bill becomes law.

Take Action

If you believe Oklahoma families and farmers should have the freedom to produce and access alternative dairy products like donkey milk, now is the time to speak up.

Contact your Oklahoma House of Representatives member and respectfully ask them to:

Vote NO on this bill that restricts the advertising of donkey milk and raises taxes on milk products in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma has long been a place where agriculture and small farms can innovate and thrive. Let’s keep it that way.

Oppose HB1912: Stop the Folic Acid Mandate

Make Oklahoma Healthy Again PAC, along with many grassroots freedom groups, opposes HB1912 by Representative Daniel Pae (including all amendments).

This bill mandates folic acid, which is the cheaper, synthetic version of folate. We support natural folate found in foods and drinks, as well as folinic acid and other methylated forms. These options—paired with proper B-12 supplementation—can help decrease birth defects and do so without discriminating against the large portion of Americans who carry an MTHFR mutation.

Bill text (committee amendment PDF):

We oppose all medical mandates. We also oppose HB1912 because a significant portion of the population has issues tolerating synthetic folic acid. Additionally, the government already mandates synthetic folic acid fortification in many wheat products, so there is no shortage of options for those who prefer or want the synthetic version.

Science is never settled. Emerging research and clinical work in autism treatment has highlighted the role of methylated forms such as folinic acid for some individuals who have difficulty absorbing or processing folate. Some families are reporting significant improvements, including gains in communication.

America is facing an autism crisis, with enormous costs and profound impacts on families. Estimates commonly cited are now around 1 in 51 children. Why is our legislature not considering the Oklahomans who react poorly to synthetic folic acid and their families? Many of these children already have limited food options—so why would Oklahoma move to take away another option?

Recent polling also shows that approximately 72% of Americans are trying to avoid ultra-processed foods, and 82% believe fewer artificial or unfamiliar ingredients make a food healthier.
